Definition
Percentile rank indicates where a scratch-off game's current EV/$ sits relative to all other active games in a given scope (national or state). A game at the 94th national percentile has a higher EV/$ than 94% of all active US scratch-off games tracked by Tirage.

We rank every active game with a valid EV/$ calculation within the chosen scope (USA or a single state), then compute: percentile = (number of games with lower EV/$) / (total games with EV/$) × 100. This is computed fresh with each data refresh. The national scope includes approximately 2,800 games across 34 US states with published remaining-prize data.
Percentile rank contextualizes a game's EV/$ within the market. An EV/$ of 0.85 sounds high in isolation, but if 40% of active games have an EV/$ above 0.85, the game is merely average. Conversely, an EV/$ of 0.72 can be the highest available in a particular state.
Example
A TX game shows "USA 94th · TX 98th." It has a higher EV/$ than 94% of all US games and 98% of all TX games. This is a strong signal that the game is exceptional relative to alternatives available at the same price point.
State percentile ranks you against only the games available in your state. National percentile ranks you against all tracked US games. A game can be the top-ranked in a small state (100th state percentile) but only the 75th nationally if other states have stronger games.
The national percentile draws from approximately 2,800 active games across the 34 US states that publish remaining-prize data. States without public remaining-prize data are excluded from percentile calculations.
