While a $748 million Powerball number grabbed the headlines elsewhere, the real movement across the roughly 40 US states and Canadian provinces Tirage covers was at the instant-game rack: a fresh wave of launches in Mississippi, Florida, New Jersey, New Mexico and Texas, plus a Massachusetts digital-instant debut that changes how a major state sells scratch play. Here's what our surveillance and data feeds flagged, starting where most of you actually spend your entertainment dollar.

New games & launches

Mississippi headlines the week with four new scratch-offs. The Mississippi Lottery is rolling four instant games into retailers by Monday, August 4, spanning the full price ladder:

  • Triple Play — $2, top prize $20,000 (three-way play, match numbers or a star symbol)
  • Wild 7s Bingo — $3, top prize $30,000 (bingo-style, prize doubles on a "7")
  • Cruisin' The Coast — $5, four collectible classic-car designs tied to the annual Gulf Coast auto event
  • Cash Explosion — $20, top prize $500,000, anchoring the batch with more than $12 million in total prizes

Florida's "Bucks" family is the biggest launch on our radar. The Florida Lottery rolled out a five-game scratch-off series with a top prize of $5 million and, by one account, roughly $642 million in total prizes across the lineup:

  • Lucky Bucks — $1, top prize $10,000
  • Big Bucks — $2, top prize $50,000
  • Giant Bucks — $5, top prize $1,000,000
  • Jumbo Bucks — $10, top prize $2,000,000
  • Mega Bucks — $20, top prize $5,000,000

New Jersey continues its premium push. New Jersey launched Jersey Riches ($30, top prize $3,000,000) and Cash Lines ($1, top prize $500) earlier this year, alongside new Fast Play progressives — part of the broader move toward higher-priced instants with $500K-plus ceilings. (Source: NJ Lottery)

New Mexico and Texas kept the pipeline full. New Mexico launched a July 7 batch — a $5 ticket ($25,000 top prize), a $3 ticket ($10,000), and a $2 ticket ($5,000) (NM Lottery). Texas put out at least nine new scratch-off titles in July, with more expected (KNUE).

Massachusetts changed the channel, not just the game. On July 27–28, Massachusetts launched its first-ever iLottery platform (powered by Aristocrat Interactive), putting 20-plus eInstant games — digital scratch tickets — in players' hands online. It's the 18th US jurisdiction with a state-run online lottery, is restricted to players 21 and older, and profits are earmarked for early-childhood education. What our data shows

This is where Tirage earns its keep. Our quantitative models continuously read remaining-prize inventory across covered states and surface where the value currently sits among scratch-offs. As of our August 3 snapshot, a handful of games stood out — and, as always, expected value (EV) is a proprietary read on relative value among entertainment options, not a promise of a return:

  • Pennsylvania — $500 Cash Money ($5): our surveillance flags an EV of about $4.22 per dollar, far and away the strongest read on the board, driven by a lone $250,000 top prize still live. See Pennsylvania.
  • Michigan — 500X Money Maker ($50): an EV of roughly $1.23 per dollar, with a $6,000,000 top prize still in the pool. See Michigan.
  • Virginia — 50X The Money ($20): an EV near $1.18 per dollar, with two $3,000,000 top prizes remaining. See Virginia.
  • Missouri — 100X ($10): an EV of about $1.11 per dollar, one $1,000,000 top prize still out. See Missouri.

The read: a small cluster of games in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia, Missouri and Florida currently show the most favorable value signals in our models. These shift as inventory sells down, so they're a snapshot, not a standing recommendation.

Notable winners & claimed prizes

  • Connecticut logged a busy stretch of instant-game and draw claims: a $30,000 Fabulous Fortune scratch-off (Danbury), a $20,000 win on 20X Cash 10th Edition (Norwalk), and a $257,633 Fast Play $30 High Roller Progressive hit (Milford). Note the backdrop: under Connecticut's Public Act 25-112 (effective October 1, 2025), the state no longer publishes winners' names without written consent — a privacy trend worth tracking. Two developments beyond North America are worth a line. A Spanish player won the €71.2 million EuroJackpot on July 31, resetting that game to about €23 million (Euro-Jackpot.net). And in a genuine industry first, Powerball launched in the UK on July 21 via Allwyn — the first time the game has been sold outside the United States, linked to the US jackpot pool through MUSL, with lines at £4 (Talking Retail, Powerball.com). Both point to a lottery landscape expanding faster than usual heading into fall.
