The scratch-off calendar was busy across our footprint. According to industry trackers, roughly 241 new instant games hit shelves across 30 states in the past four weeks (Scratchers Paradise) — and several of the most notable landed in states we cover.

Florida rolled out five new scratch-off games in early July — Lucky Bucks, Big Bucks, Giant Bucks, Jumbo Bucks, and Mega Bucks — spanning the $1 to $20 price range with a top prize of up to $5 million. The Lottery pegs the launch at more than $536 million in total available prizes across upwards of 28 million winning tickets (WFTV). Washington's Lottery did something rarer: its new "Keys and Cash" instant game is the state's first-ever scratch ticket with a vehicle prize, putting six 2026 Ford Bronco Sport SUVs in the prize pool alongside cash prizes from $10 to $25,000 (NASPL Insights). On the systems side, Arizona completed a July 9 rebuild of its draw-game suite on Scientific Games' Momentum platform, adding an automatic multiplier and a new "The Pick PLUS" instant-win add-on, a midday Pick 3, an all-new Pick 4, and a Powerball Double Play option (PR Newswire). What our data shows

New launches are the headline; where the value sits is the differentiator. This week our quantitative models surfaced a tight cluster of instant games reading above break-even — an unusual concentration, and a reminder that value is game-specific, not state-wide.

  • Pennsylvania — $500 Cash Money ($5): the standout on our surveillance this week, with an EV of about $4.22 per dollar — far and away the highest read on our board. The caveat that keeps it honest: just one top prize ($250,000) remains, so the window is narrow. Context on our Pennsylvania page.
  • New Hampshire — Fat Stacks ($5): an EV near $1.32 per dollar with five $100,000 top prizes still live — one of the cleaner reads in the Northeast (NH board).
  • Michigan — 500X Money Maker ($50): a premium ticket carrying an EV around $1.23 per dollar, with its $6 million top prize still on the table (Michigan board).
  • Virginia — 50X The Money ($20): an EV close to $1.12 per dollar with two $3 million top prizes remaining (Virginia board).
  • Florida — Scorching Hot 7s ($10): among the new-state activity, this one reads at an EV of roughly $1.04 per dollar with a $2 million top prize outstanding (Florida board).

Notable winners & claimed prizes

The instant category produced the week's most relatable wins. In Connecticut, a Pomfret Center player claimed $1,000,000 on the $1,000,000 Gold scratch-off, on a ticket bought at a Brooklyn, CT convenience store (CT Patch). Georgia reported two scratch millionaires — a Fayetteville player on 50X The Money and a Jasper player on Millionaire Maker, each for a $1 million top prize (Georgia Lottery). And New Jersey underscored the category's depth, logging 36 prizes of $1 million or more in the first half of 2026 across games including $5,000,000 Fortune and 200X Cash Blitz, with top prizes reaching $12.3 million (NJ Lottery).

The week's feel-good story came out of Michigan, where a Livingston County man who couldn't recall whether he'd already bought his daily Fantasy 5 ticket bought a second — and matched the same numbers on both, collecting two $110,000 Double Play prizes for $220,000 total (Michigan Lottery).

On the multi-state side, Powerball's second tier paid out steadily: $1 million each in Arizona and Massachusetts on July 18, a $2 million Power Play ticket in Louisiana on July 15, and a $1 million match-five in Virginia on July 13 (USA Mega).

The structural story abroad is Powerball's UK launch: MUSL and Allwyn's National Lottery began selling £4 Powerball lines from July 21, with a £12 million starting jackpot and the first UK-eligible draw later that week — the first time a non-U.S. operator has contributed to the Powerball pool (Powerball.com).
